Meditation
Mindfulness meditation is the foundation of all that we do at the Shambhala Meditation Center. Originating from
Shakyamuni Buddha, this 2,500 year-old practice of self-discovery is rooted in the simple, but revolutionary premise
that every human being has the ability to cultivate the mind's inherent stability, clarity and strength in order to be
more awake and compassionate in everyday life.
Learn to Meditate
The Shambhala Meditation Center offers meditation instruction free of charge, every week on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and at Sunday's Open House. Please feel welcome to drop by. No previous
experience required!
We provide an environment where each person can engage the practice of meditation at their own pace.
If you want to practice meditation in a group environment, you are welcome to attend with no commitment or requirement to follow a particular course of study.
Meditation Instructors
If you are interested in maintaining a regular meditation practice, the Shambhala Meditation Center can provide you with a personal meditation instructor -
also free of charge. A meditation instructor can meet with you on a regular basis to provide you with guidance for your meditation practice. Please contact Teresa Colleton at 415-485-1452 for information.
Group Instruction
If you and some friends would like to start a meditation group, contact Teresa Colleton at 415-485-1452 to have a meditation instructor visit your group and provide free meditation instruction.
